Reverend Cecil A. Morrison Sr., 90, retired Baptist Minister of Coolville, Ohio, died on July 19, 2013, at the Willows Nursing Home in Parkersburg.
He was born in Vienna, W.Va., on April 17, 1923, and was the son of the late Rev. Cecil B. and Clancie Ball Morrison.
He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church. He ministered throughout the Mid Ohio Valley, and was a member of the Coolville Masonic Lodge #339.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kipp Morrison of Vienna; two daughters, Joyce A. Schultz of Little Hocking, Ohio, and Janet L. (Dennis) Coe of Millbury, Ohio; a son, Cecil A. (Pamela) Morrison II of Palestine, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Justin (Kate) Schultz, Renee (Jack) Hunt, Dean (Lisa) Coe, Melinda (Jason) Place, Melissa (John) Chiki, Cecil Morrison III and Penny (Michael) Shrader; five great-grandchildren; three step-children, Cheryl Kipp of Kansas, Patricia (Gary) Skidmore of Pennsylvania and Carol Lee (Bill) Kipp-Caldwell of Georgia; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; a sister, Lucille Lockhart of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; and two brothers, Joseph Morrison of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Jim Morrison of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 58 years, Mildred L. Dulin Morrison; one brother, Rev. B. R. Morrison; and two sisters, Gladys Carpenter and Ruth Bryan.
Services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanderhoof Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
