John D. Martin, 67, of Belleville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 17, 1946, in Jackson Co., a son to the late Edward and Leona Martin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and later retired after many years as a route supervisor and driver for Frito Lays/Pepsi, and he was a member of Willowdale Baptist Church. John loved the outdoors, riding his four wheeler, his church, spending time with his favorite dog Minnie and most of all his grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosey Moore. He is survived by his wife, Grace Martin; sons, Tony Martin (Joyce) of Wheeling, Todd Martin (Lisa) of Washington, and Scott Martin (Diana) of Belleville; granddaughters, Elizabeth Martin of Vienna, and Jessica Martin of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters, Betty Miller, Virginia Lane and Jean Clem; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. A private family graveside service will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens. There will be a time of gathering for the family Thursday, July 18, 12:30 p.m., at the Lubeck Vol. Fire Dept., for those who would like to express their condolences.
