Mary Madeline Williams, 95, of Accident, Md., formerly of Greenwood, W.Va., departed this life on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Cedar Hill Assisted Living Center.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1917, at Camp, W.Va., near Wilbur, Tyler County, the daughter of the late Luther and Lucy George Davis.
Madeline was a 1935 graduate of Tyler County High School, had been a custodian for the former Greenwood Grade School for 21 years, a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and she loved children.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Williams (Susan), Terra Alta, W.Va.; son-in-law, Neil Jackson, Pennsboro, W.Va.; sister, Esther Ferrebee, Bridgeville, Pa.; grandchildren, Brian Jackson, Shawn Jackson, April Jackson Nadolson and Courtney Williams Breese; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Grace Jackson, Andrea Dawn Nadolson, Tyler Nadolson, Austin Nadolson, Noel Myers, Collier Breese and Chloe Breese. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Berlin E. Williams; daughter, Dixie L. Jackson; and brothers, Jack Davis, Denver Davis and Delmar Davis.
Funeral services will be held at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, W.Va., on Wednesday, July 17, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Randy Stewart officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, and after 9 a.m. on the day of the service.
