Vivian Elena Joy Elliott, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away July 13, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born June 17, 1923, at Toppins Grove in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Fred D. and Grace Kimes Joy.
Vivian was a former member of the Willowdale Baptist Church and current member of the 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church, where she was previously active in the Ladies Guild. She was a homemaker.
Surviving is her husband, Lawrence H. Elliott; one brother, Dorsel D. (Phyllis) Joy of Newton Falls, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Lee Ball, and a daughter, Charlotte Ball; her second husband, Denver Congrove; two brothers, Rev. Herndon Joy and Rev. Leland Joy; and sisters, Delores Puckett, Laverne King, and an infant sister.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Tim Burch will officiate. Burial will follow at the Willowdale Cemetery. The visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
