PARKERSBURG - Jordan Braniff went 3 for 3 and Adam McCray worked three innings of relief to earn the win here Saturday at Bennett Stump Field as Parkersburg Post 15 rallied past Potomac Valley Post 64 in the first game of an American Legion twinbill, 6-4.
Potomac Valley's top three hitters - Alex See, Bryce Strawderman and Shawn Skovron - reached base in 10 of 12 plate appearances in game one, but only scored three runs. PV, which split the doubleheader thanks to a 6-3 victory in eight innings in game two, left the bases loaded in the first, second and fourth frames of the opener.
Post 15 starter Anthony Kist, who worked the first four innings, didn't return for the fifth after Potomac Valley (13-21) took a 4-3 lead thanks to a three-run fourth. Skovron had the big hit via a two-run double to left-center and Brian George's RBI single plated Skovron.

Parkersburg Post 15’s Lucas Goodwin scores on a wild pitch before Potomac Valley Post 64 starter Brandon George receives the throw Saturday.
The visitors managed just one run in the first. That happened when Kist walked losing hurler Brandon George to force in See. Kist got out of the bases-loaded jam in the second when he fanned Ryan Colaw and found himself ahead 3-1 when the hosts pushed across a trio of runs in the third.
Parkersburg No. 9 hitter Lucas Goodwin started the inning with a free pass and later scored on a wild pitch. Austin Cottrell and Jacob Wilcox also drew free passes. Cottrell scored on a delayed double-steal with Wilcox, who trotted home on Jonathon Murphy's RBI fielder's choice.
Post 64's 4-3 advantage didn't last long as Devon Crews singled and eventually scored on Potomac Valley's lone error in the fourth.
