FRIENDLY - Aleris employees who work at the company's Friendly facility were recently recognized by company leadership for their safety record.
The Tyler County plant, which employs nearly 65 people, mostly from the surrounding Friendly area, reached a milestone of going 455 days without a recordable injury, according to a press release. Since achieving this milestone, the team has demonstrated continued safety excellence, company officials said.
The Friendly facility has been in operation since 1998.
The plant is a recycling facility, which includes melting and milling operations for secondary aluminum materials.
Plant Manager Jeff Knowlton said, "It is with great pleasure to be part of such an engaged workforce. The team achieved this exceptional safety performance while also setting new production records on both our furnace and mill. I am confident that our team will remain focused on improvements in safety as well as productivity."
