Denver A. Nutt, 61, of Calhoun, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Kindred Hospital of Rome.
Denver was born on Jan. 21, 1952, in Parkersberg, W.Va. He was the son of Pearl Comer Nutt and the late Denver V. Nutt. Denver served in the United States Air Force and worked for Tandus Flooring in Dalton, Ga. He has been a resident of Gordon County for 20 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Amanda Carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Nutt of Calhoun; his mother, Pearl Comer Nutt of Parkerburg, W.Va.; son, Michael Nutt and his wife Lana of Groton, Conn.; daughter, Megan Watson and her husband Joel of Calhoun; sisters, Sharon Dudley of Jacksonville, N.C., Sheila Jackson and her husband Junior of Williamstown, W.Va., Luann Logan of Indianapolis, and Marilee Nutt of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted today, 10 a.m., from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carll Converse officiating and Michael Nutt speaking. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
