Georgia Catherine “Kit” Nutter

Parkersburg News and Sentinel

Georgia Catherine "Kit" Nutter, 80, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013, in Shenandoah, Texas.

She was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Big Springs, W.Va., to Roy and Belle Clayton Cunningham. Georgia was raised to believe that God put us on the earth to love one another, and that is how she lived her life. "Kit" or "Kitty Bee" as she was known to her family, was a giver. For 80 years she gave her love, companionship, hope, comfort, support, advice, countless smiles and endless laughter to generations of family and friends who, in return, loved her dearly. In both times of struggle and times of plenty, her kitchen light was on, a beacon of welcome in the darkest nights. Family and friends knew that in that light was a promise of warmth, safety, unconditional love and great food! Georgia personified all that was good about home. And now that she herself has gone home, it is up to her family and friends to carry on her legacy of love, kindness and generosity. She would ask that they turn on their own kitchen lights, no matter how dark it gets outside and be there for the ones who need them most.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Linda Turek (George) of The Woodlands, Texas; her son, David Nutter of The Woodlands, Texas; four grandchildren, Travis Fitzpatrick (Millie), Jessica Madera (Hemky), Cayleb Nutter and Kaylee Jerovsek; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Fitzpatrick and George Madera; and several beloved family members and friends across the country.

Georgia Nutter touched many lives. She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings; an infant daughter, Cheryl Nutter; and her husband of 56 years, William Keith Nutter.

Per her wishes, Georgia will be cremated and a graveside service for family and friends will be held in the fall, her favorite time of year.
