Ira Lee Knotts, 88, of Ravenswood, W.Va., passed away June 30, 2013, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.
He was born July 22, 1924, in Leadmine, W.Va., a son of the late Enos Knotts and Susan Blanche Shaffer Knotts.
He was a member of North United Methodist Church in Ravenswood. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. in 1986 with 28 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved to garden.
He is survived by sons, Fred James and wife Anita, Parkersburg; Gary Knotts and wife Beth, Ravenswood; Jim Knotts and wife Vera, Ravenswood; and David Knotts and wife Debbie, Ravenswood; nine grandchildren; 10 great-randchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother: Victor Knotts, Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helene Maxine Knotts; brothers, LeRoy, Marshall, Hugh, Denver, and Willard, and a sister, Verda.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va. with Pastor Don Maxson officiating. Burial will be in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, W.Va. with military graveside rites provided by Ravenswood VFW Post 6669.'
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home today from 5-9 p.m.
