MARIETTA -- The Washington County Courthouse closed to the public Monday following a power surge that caused an electrical problem. The courthouse was evacuated around 11 a.m. and power was shut off while firefighters from the Marietta Fire Department looked for the source of the surge. The courthouse is expected to reopen with regular hours Tuesday. Jury A, however, does not have to appear for service Tuesday.
