Fern V. (Huggins) Patterson

Fern V. (Huggins) Patterson, 93, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 24, 2013, at her son's home in Columbus, Ohio, with her children by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Luther P. (Lute) Huggins and Dana I (Corbin) Huggins.

She attended Family Worship Center in Reno, Ohio, and dearly loved her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who was loved by many. She was a housewife who took care of her children and anyone else who needed food or shelter.

Surviving are her children, Louis P. Patterson and wife, Janet, and children Dana, Alisha, Jason and Mandy; Patty McBee and husband, Ben, and children, Brian, Deena and Shannon; and Linda Huggins and her son, Brad Huggins. She had seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all and it brought a beautiful smile to her face when they came around. She had many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, especially Linda Carpenter, Margaret Cutright and Mary Melrose, who were her special companions. She is survived by one sister, Betty Neighbors, who resides in Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Patterson; five sisters; and four brothers.

Visitation will be at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be noon Friday with Pastor Charlie Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Corbin Cemetery on Bull Run Road, Waverly, W.Va., concluding with fellowship at Pleasant Grove Church.
