Cheryl Lynn Horner, 43, of Pennsboro, W.Va., departed this life on June 22, 2013, in Ellenboro, W.Va., as a result of an automobile accident.
Cheryl was born Feb. 24, 1970, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, a daughter of Charley and Anna Jane (Jaggers) Swadley of Harrisville. Cheryl spent her life as a loving homemaker for her husband and daughter. She also served as a caring volunteer for the Ritchie County Community, most notably with Creed Collins Elementary School and with the American Red Cross. She also served as a 19-year member of the Pennsboro Fire Department & Ladies Auxiliary and was a graduate of Ritchie County High School with the class of 1988. Cheryl loved spending time with her family and friends and greatly enjoyed being at the family hunting camp and attending dirt track races as a family.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Larry Horner Jr.; twin sister, Cherry Bishop (Mike), Harrisville, W.Va.; brother, Charles "Chuck" Swadley (Kylia), Pennsboro; sister-in-law, Sondra (Kenny) Griffith, Pennsboro; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Betty Horner Sr., Pennsboro; and nieces and nephews, Hunter, Allyson, Tara, Levi, Dana and Brian. Cheryl was preceded in death by her daughter, Makayla Danielle Horner, who passed away as a result of the same automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ritchie County High School Auditorium, with the Rev. Jim Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisville IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ritchie County High School.
