Richard Norman Hemenway and Carlene Sue Cain Hemenway celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends.
They were married May 25, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Parkersburg by the Rev. Ralph Lamb.
They lived in Columbus where he worked for F&R Lazarus as an electronic technician for 25 years. He attended Midwest Techincal School for armed training for private security. He received several awards. He retired from there while at Lazarus. He was also a floor guard at the West View Skating Rink.
She retired from McDonald's after 18 years. She won her first skate dance award at West View Skating Rink.
The couple moved back to the Mid-Ohio Valley after retiring. He enjoys spending time restoring old electric trains and they both enjoy gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
They are the parents of Charlene Jean Hemenway Ross of Newark, Ohio, and Richard (Christene) Hemenway Jr. of Grove City, Ohio.
They have three grandchildren, Michael, Angela and James Ross of Newark.
