Grover H. Collins, 85, of Big Springs, passed away June 23, 2013, at his home.
He was born at Big Springs and was a son of the late Henry B. Collins and Virginia B. Snider Collins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired water well driller. He was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his children, Phillip Kelley (Robyn) of Rootstown, Ohio, Janice Novak of Seven Hills, Ohio, Bill Collins (Becky) of Mt. Zion, W.Va., and Lucy Hill (Ed) of Washington, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lovie D. Collins on Nov. 25, 2006; sisters, Hallie Jones, Nettie Dotson, Rettie Freeland, Reda Leach and Jettie Collins; and brothers, Eddie Collins and Ethelbert Collins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. The Rev. Carroll McCauley will officiate. Interment will be in Nobe Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday.
