Joan M. LaPann (nee Weller), 84, died on June 22, 2013.
Joan lived in Woodbury Heights, N.J., for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Teaneck High School in 1946, and received her BA in English from Skidmore College in 1950. Joan was a Compensatory Aide for Math and English at the middle school and elementary levels for various schools in Gloucester and Camden Counties. Joan was an avid bridge player. She was an active member of the American Association of University Women and the Skidmore Alumni Association. She also enjoyed being active in the Woodbury Heights Community, especially the PTA and the Boys Club. Three years ago, Joan was proud to participate in a new cardiac surgical study, the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), which was subsequently approved by the FDA.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Ted."
She is survived by her children, Paul (Shirley) of Parkersburg, Joseph of Deptford, N.J., David (Karin) of Pilesgrove, N.J., and Antoinette LaPann (James Johannessen) of Landisville, Pa.; and grandchildren, Brian and Kathryn LaPann and Lars and Christian LaPann-Johannessen.
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday after 11 a.m. in the Parish of the Infant Jesus (St. Margaret's Church), Third and Beech streets, Woodbury Heights, N.J. Funeral mass will be at noon. Interment will be private in Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
