GLOUSTER, Ohio - An investigation is continuing into a shooting during a daytime burglary that took place in Glouster Thursday.
Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly said Keith Rutter, 34, Taylor Ridge, Glouster is believed to have burglarized a neighbor's residence at approximately 10:54 a.m. Thursday.
A spokesman for the Athens County Sheriff's Department said Friday the case will be presented to the county grand jury on Monday.
Witnesses told detectives Rutter was seen walking up the road in front of the burglarized residence, then cutting over the hill next to the residence, officials said. A relative allegedly observed Rutter exiting the residence and shots were fired. The county coroner has ordered an autopsy.
The identity of the shooter is being withheld pending outcome of the investigation.
