Howard Bruce Reed, 88, of Parkersburg, died June 18, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Roane County,W.Va., a son of the late Hollie and Euna Riddle Reed.
He retired from Broughton Dairy as a branch manager and beginning his career there as a milkman. He was an U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the Italian invasion. He also served many years in the American Legion Post 15 Color Guard. He was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, loved his family and his pride and joy was his workshop.
He is survived by two sons, Roger (Patty) Reed of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Larry (Jan) Reed of Williamstown, formerly of Parkersburg; one daughter, Debra Parrish, of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Lisa (Aaron) Wagner, Jason (Christine) Reed; two great grandchildren, Jackson Wagner and Dylan Reed.
In addition to his parents, he was recently preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Reed on May 9, and also two brothers, Billy and Robert Reed.
Services will be today, 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Dr. Paul Russell officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery South with military rites by the American Legion Post 15.
