DAVISVILLE - Representatives of the Polymer Alliance Zone will attend the PLASTEC East Trade Show today through Thursday in Philadelphia.
"This trade show will draw over 20,000 plastic industry representatives from around the world," Karen Facemyer, president of the Polymer Alliance, said.
"Our mission is to meet with plastic industry companies, vendors and suppliers to let them know the benefits of establishing operations in West Virginia or purchasing products from West Virginia polymer companies," she said. "At the same time, we'll be collecting information on the latest products and tools for the industry to bring back for the benefit of our members."
The Polymer Alliance will market West Virginia as a location for plastic and polymer companies. Participating in these events yield results, she said.
"Several international companies have visited West Virginia as a direct result of our participation in these types of events," she said. "The opening of PWP Industries, which has operations in the Wood County area, was a direct result of participating in similar trade shows several years ago."
Agencies and organizations also participating include the West Virginia Division of Commerce and Development Office, the Wood County Development Authority, Commercial Plastics Recycling, Pickering Associates, ICL-IP America and the Jefferson County Economic Development Authority.
