Paul Long

Paul Long, 95, of Clarksburg, formerly of Middlebourne, departed this life Wednesday June 12, 2013, in Heartland of Clarksburg.

He was born June 23, 1917 in Tyler County, a son of the late Golden and Bessie Hadley Long.

Paul was a retired farmer. He loved music and was a musician. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII; he was very proud of his boxing ability while serving in the Army; he was also awarded the Purple Heart.

Paul is survived by two sons, James Long and his fiancee Melissa Luther of Parkersburg and Tom Long of Florida. A sister Helen Konsol; five grandchildren, Garrett and Paxton Long, Austin, Colten and Brianna Luther.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, William, James, Gale, Kermit and Robert Long. A sister Imogene Davis.

Friends will be received at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, Sunday 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Monday 2 p.m. Interment in Long Cemetery, Middlebourne.

Military service will be provided by VFW Post 6327, Sistersville, VFW Post 4634, New Martinsville, American Legion Post 67, Sistersville, American Legion Post 86, Paden City and American Legion Post 28, New Martinsville.
