Ronald G. Gilmore

Ronald G. Gilmore, 79, of Washington, W.Va., passed away June 7, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born May 24, 1934, in Pennsboro, W.Va., the son of the late Grace I. Wilson and Clayton Gayle Gilmore.

Ronald attended Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg, was a U.S. Army veteran and a management analyst for the Bureau of Public Debt and the DCSC (Defense Construction Supply Center). He enjoyed watching all sports, was an avid WV University Mountaineer, Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ron was a loyal member and served as a Deacon of First Baptist Church in Parkersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Edith L. Wyckoff Gilmore, whom he married March 12, 1967; a sister-in-law, Pauline and her husband, Cleve Costley; a brother-in-law, Frank Raber; two nieces, Debra and Jennifer Costley; great-niece, Stacy Wymer; three great-nephews, Darin and Ryan Kendall and Garrett Grimes; great-great-niece, Alexica Fife; and two great-great-nephews, Zachary Costley-Wymer and Anthony Fife.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Rich McClure and Dr. David Carrico officiating. American Legion Post 15 will provide full military rites at the funeral home prior to services. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Finch, W.Va., in Ritchie County. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
