William Donald "Don" Allman, 95, of Davisville, W.Va., passed away June 6, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born at Slate, W.Va., on Nov. 26, 1917, a son of the late William Henry and Cora Belle James Allman.
Don was of the Methodist Faith, was retired from the Ironworkers Union Local #787. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, member of the Disabled American Veterans of Murphytown and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Parker Allman, one son William "Bill" Allman Jr., of Davisville, five grandchildren, Mike Allman, Jill Allman, Tashua Allman-Duval (Karl), Brandy (Jason) Radcliff, and Lacey Allman.
Four great-grandchildren, Isaac West, Zoie Allman, Raina Allman, and Bella Oldaker; one brother, Bernard (Jane) Allman of Raleigh, N.C., two sisters, Nona Huxley of Parkersburg and Barbara Murnahan of Mooresville, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tina Allman; four brothers, Hubert, Dick, Ray, and John Allman; three sisters, Thirza Garner, Peg Cusack and Mae Miracle.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion, Post #15. The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
