PARKERSBURG - A Parkersburg man was arrested on a felony drug charge and police are still searching for a man wanted out of Athens County, Ohio.
Police arrested Clifford Goans Batten, 28, 1004 West Virginia Ave., Parkersburg, Monday around 3:15 p.m. on a felony charge of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.
While conducting surveillance operations in north Parkersburg, police detectives received consent to search 1004 West Virginia Ave. in reference to locating the wanted Athens County man, Joshua Robert Wilson, 30, police said.
Once inside the home, Parkersburg police detectives said they discovered a "one bottle" methamphetamine cook on the top floor of the residence. The house was immediately secured and a search warrant was obtained by the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force, police said.
Police detectives and agents with the task force executed the search warrant to examine and process the alleged methamphetamine operations.
The items found in Batten's residence included three reaction vessels, two gas generators, one empty instant cold pack and several lithium batteries with the lithium removed, police said. Batten was taken into custody and held in the Wood County Holding Center.
He was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court Monday night, officials said.
Police are still searching for Wilson whose last known location was 1004 West Virginia Ave., officials said. Wilson is wanted on charges of heroin trafficking and was last seen in north Parkersburg late Monday afternoon, police said.
