Brian Boitano has a cooking show that I love to watch early in the morning on the weekends. The former Olympic gold medalist skater also has released a new cookbook, "What Would Brian Boitano Make?"
From traveling abroad to his Italian background, Boitano has picked up some food influences that he shares in the recipes in this book!
The book is divided into several chapters, Starters, Beverages, Soup & Sandwich Express, Salads, Pasta, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Sides and Sweets. There is also a chapter on menu ideas and setting up your kitchen.
Starters include tapas recipes like Paella Sliders, Polenta with Spicy Sausage and Red Pepper Relish and Southwestern Sopapillas and simple appetizers like Crab-and-Avocado Crostini and Sun-Dried Tomato and Goat Cheese Skewers.
Beverages include Watermelon Margaritas, White Wine Sangrias and Blood Orange Mojitos.
Soup & Sandwich Express is quick soups like Sweet Corn Chowder and Ham, Butternut Squash Soup with Goat Cheese Toasts and Spicy Sausage Soup with Cannellini Beans and Escarole. There are delicious desserts to choose from like Molten Chocolate Cakes with Raspberry Sauce, Spicy Coffee Brownies, Caramel Banana Cream Pie and Coconut Flan.
Boitano says in the introduction that he loves to entertain, and all of these dishes would be great for entertaining guests or taking to a dinner party. This would be a great book for home cooks who love to entertain!
