James E. Williams, 81, of Parkersburg, died May 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1931, in Wood County, a son of the late Harry M. and Cora Shultz Williams.
He was self employed, building and remodeling homes in the Mid-Ohio Valley for over 60 years and later spent time going to the "office" twice a day, known to most as McDonald's on Southside. He was loved by many friends, family and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Smith Williams; three children, Cynthia Mae (Barry) Lyons of Lynchburg, Va., James Monroe Williams of Vincent, Ohio, and Timothy Ray Williams of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Patrick and Andrew Lyons and Rachel, Walker, Ryan and Takoda Williams; one sister, Alice Criss of Parkersburg; and one brother, Kenneth Williams of Parkersburg.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
