Russell C. Baker, 91, of Sistersville, W.Va., passed away May 24, 2013, at Sistersville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Sistersville, a son of the late Isaac R. and Leafy R. Reed Baker.
Russell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 99th Infantry Division. He was retired from Union Carbide after 28 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sistersville, American Legion Post 67 and VFW Post 6327.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneive "Jenny" Baker in 1995; and one brother, Robert R. "Ike" Baker in 1993.
He is survived by a special friend, Betty Fiest; and several other friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, W.Va., with the Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
