William Joseph Cox, 65, of Parkersburg died May 23, 2013, at the Marietta Care & Rehab Center.
"Bill" was born July 29, 1947 at Parkersburg, a son of Ora JoAnn Blair Cox of Marietta and the late William Monroe Cox.
Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a graduate of cosmetology school in New York City and had been employed at the former American Viscose and Mister Bee Potato Chip Co.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Eric Scott (Dot) Cox, Joseph (Joanna) Cox, both of Washington, W.Va., and John (Stephanie) Cox of Parkersburg; two sisters, Lois Boggs of Bethel Springs, Tenn., and Virginia Cox of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Breanna, Brooke, Jeremy, Trever, Joey and Cody, and one great-grandson, Brenton.
In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Leavitt Cox.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg with Pastor Ron Hendershot officiating. Interment will follow in the Limestone Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army.
