Harold "Bill" William Medcalf, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away May 21, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Aug. 24, 1925 to the late Harry D. Medcalf and Hazel Crouse Medcalf.
He retired from Hope Natural Gas and attended the Beechwood Presbyterian Church. He was a Navy veteran where he served in World War II, a 32nd Degree Mason, Williamstown Lodge #129, a Shriner, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 58. Some of his hobbies that he loved were wood working, swimming, and bowling.
He is survived by his children, one son, Bill Medcalf, Jr. (Martha) of Greensboro, N.C.; two daughters, Nancy Kaefer (Jeff) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Margaret Scholl (Tom) of Alva, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen L. (Wingrove) Medcalf.
Visitation will be Friday, May 24 at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 25, at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown.
