CHARLESTON - A concert by country star Tracy Lawrence in Charleston will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs in that city and in Parkersburg.
The concert will be 7 p.m. May 31 at the Clay Center in Charleston, in the center's Maier Foundation Performance Hall. Tickets are $20, $25 and $50.

Country star Tracy Lawrence will hold a concert in Clay Center May 31 to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Charleston and Parkersburg
Over the years, Lawrence has won numerous Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards, with platinum albums, 18 number-one singles and 13 million albums sold. His hits include "Paint Me a Birmingham," "Time Marches On," "Alibis" and "Find Out Who Your Friends Are."
Prior to Lawrence's performance, critically acclaimed artist and songwriter Rick Huckaby, who recently celebrated the release of his new album, "Pistols & Diamonds," will open the concert. Huckaby got his musical start in West Virginia when his father was Marshall University's basketball coach.
"The Boys and Girls Club is a great program that provides opportunities to cultivate future leaders in our communities," Lawrence said in a presss release regarding the concert which benefits the two regional programs. "The Boys and Girls Clubs Benefit Concert is a great way for the community to support and help provide the resources needed to continue the great work they do on a daily basis."
All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs in Kanawha and Wood counties.
"We are grateful for the generosity of Tracy Lawrence and other benefactors for putting on this wonderful concert and providing us with the opportunity to better serve several hundred kids in our communities who might otherwise have no place to go each day," said Dave Lewis, chair of the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg.
"The proceeds from this event will enable us to provide life-changing experiences to our members through programs and activities centered on academic success and job readiness, healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship. We anticipate that country music fans from all over our region will come to hear Tracy sing some of his old favorites and songs from his upcoming new album and help make this benefit concert a great success," Lewis said.
