Carl H. Brum, 92, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died May 16, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Deerwalk, W.Va., a son of the late Simeon and Nevada (Stoops) Brum.
Carl retired from DuPont in 1982 after 32 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. During the war, he served in Normandy and all throughout Germany including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 15 and VFW Post 5108. Carl was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge 3. He was a free spirit with a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by two children, Dr. Dale Brum and Brenda Brum, both of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Alexis and Eric Brum; and his longtime friend, Bill Rogers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen (Camp) Brum; and his sister, Martha Uppole.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Buddy Stephens officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery North with military honors by American Legion Post 15 and Masonic Rites by Mt. Olivet Lodge 3. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Shriner's Children Hospital.
