PARKERSBURG Two contract workers were injured after falling about 15 feet from scaffolding at the Federal Building at Fifth and Juliana streets, officials said.
Parkersburg Fire Chief Eric Taylor said firefighters and emergency crews responded to the call just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. An official with the Department of Homeland Security responded to the scene.
He said two workers were injured, but officials do not know to what level. The men were contract workers involved in several renovation projects at the building, officials said.
A worker is taken from the Federal Building after an accident on Tuesday.
The extent of the injuries and identiries of the were not immediately available.
Taylor said the men fell into an outside concrete hole they had been walking over on the metal scaffolding. He said the men were injured when the steel fell on top of them after buckling.
He said the men were pouring the concrete for a new pad for the generator in the basement of the building.
Both of the men were conscious and alert before being taken to Camden Clark Medical Center.
