Garnette E. Foutty, 91, of Belpre, Ohio, died May 9, 2013, at The Willows in Parkersburg.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1921, in Parkersburg, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late French E. and Gladys D. Appleton Calhoun.
She had been a member of Mullen Memorial Baptist Church in Belpre for over 52 years, where she had played the piano for more than 40 years. She taught Sunday School, was a past member of the Belpre Garden Club and been an active member of the Belpre Senior Citizens, where she would play the piano.
Survivors include her six children, Judy (Paul) Hogsett of Kanawha, W.Va., Carol (Tom) Hutchinson of Elizabeth, W.Va., Linda (Rod) Ingraham of Belpre, Ohio, Joyce Ann (Kevin) Sellers of Elizabeth, W.Va., Martha Christine Reeves of Dayton, Va., and Dan (Donna) Foutty of Pataskala, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Foutty of Vienna, W.Va.; her sister, Francis Cunningham of Parkersburg; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley M. Foutty; a son, David Foutty Sr.; two grandchildren, Susan Hogsett and Joshua Foutty; and two sisters, Lois Calhoun and Gladys Johnson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mullen Memorial Baptist Church, Belpre, with Pastor Jamie Sprague and Pastor Kent Lowther officiating. Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, and one hour prior to services at the church.
