WILLIAMSTOWN - Officials and volunteers are preparing to open the Williamstown Healthy Lifestyle Swimming Pool next month with the sale of season passes next week.
City Councilwoman Barbara Lewis said passes will be available at the city building at 100 W. 5th St., beginning Monday morning.
"We will have the passes on sale with a discount until May 24," Lewis said.
Family passes will be $180 and $80 for single passes for unlimited entrances to the pool. Family passes cover five people with each additional person $20 for the season.
"We are very happy to have not had to raise the prices since we opened five years ago," Lewis said.
Individual daily rates will be $5 for adults, $4 for children and seniors and babies free.
The pool will open for three hours at 4 p.m. June 11, the last day of classes for Wood County Schools.
"We always open the last day of school for kids to be able to celebrate," said Lewis.
The regular hours for the facility through the summer will be noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Night swim will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, swim team practice will take place Monday, Wednesday and Sunday while water aerobics will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rentals and theme nights will be Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Along with the pool passes, applications for the swim team will be available at the city building.
"Expanding our swim team is a major focus this year," Lewis said.
This will be the fifth season for the new pool, which was opened through community and city efforts. It is next to Williamstown High School on land donated by the Wood County school system and the Fenton Foundation.
