Nina Marie Arthur, 84, formerly of Vienna, passed away May 8, 2013, at the Willows Center in Parkersburg.
She was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Auburn, W.Va., a daughter of the late Glen C. and Mayme Kemper Spurgeon.
Nina was a graduate of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing where she received her RN Degree. She formerly worked at St. Joseph's and Camden Clark Memorial Hospitals, and was a floor supervisor at Worthington Manor. She was a member of Vienna Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and canning.
Nina is survived by two daughters, Janet Carlson (John) of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and Becky Murphy (Willie) of Vienna; four sons, Donald Arthur (Stephanie) of St. Augustine, Fla., Michael Arthur (Faith) of Vienna, William Arthur (Debbie) of Bridgeport, W.Va. and Richard Arthur (Jan) of Fletcher, N.C.; one sister, Ruth Logue of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren B. Arthur, and one brother, Carl Spurgeon.
Funeral services for Nina will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna, with John Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of services.
