Edgar William Eddy, 84, of Parkersburg, went to be with his Lord on April 27, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1928, in Wood County, a son of the late Robert and Rose Eddy Adcock.
He began his career as a floral designer with Dudley's Florist, then worked for various floral shops in the Parkersburg and Marietta areas before retiring from Vienna Florist in 1992. From the mid 1970's through last year, he ran his own greenhouse business on Staunton Avenue. He was also an active member of Beechwood Heights Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susie Eddy; one son, Steven E. (Judy) Kidder of Parkersburg; one daughter, Angela (Doug) Bock of Troutville, Va.; three grandchildren, Amanda Heathcoat of Monongahela, Pa., Steven W. Kidder and his fiancee, Lindsay Maggi, of Parkersburg, and Jonathan Bock of Troutville, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Kristina Heathcoat, Lilly Heathcoat and Wyatt Proctor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Rose Eddy.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beechwood Heights Church of Christ, with Minister Rick Welch and Kyle Jolly officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.
