Sue Webb died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge, Va., from complications due to Alzheimers.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on Feb. 6, 1938 to Melvin H. and Estelle Benedum Shrewsbury. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1956, where she was a member of the A Cappella Choir and Entre Nous Book Club. She retired after 30 years from the Arlington County School System.
Sue is survived by her husband, Charles T. Webb; three children, son, Timothy (Martha) Rutter, and daughters, Rebecca (John) Habick, Carlyn Rutter and Luann Peterson; three step-children, son, David Webb, and daughters, Sue Webb and Debbie (Scott) Stewart; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Michelle, Jenifer and Andrew Rutter, Tyler, Colby and Dylan Habick, and Sarah and Andrew Stewart; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, H. Lauritz Rutter; two brothers, Gerald and Don Shrewsbury; one sister, Betty Shackleford; and brother-in-law, Robert Webb.
The family has requested that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. May 4 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
