Gladys R. Cox, 95, of Belpre, passed away on April 20, 2013, at her residence, under the loving care of her family and Marietta Home Health and Hospice.
She was born in Ritchie County, W.Va., on Nov. 10, 1917, a daughter of the late R. Lee and Jesse Hardman Barker.
Gladys graduated from Salem College and was a school teacher for over 30 years, having taught in Meigs County and then in Cairo for 10 years. She had operated a craft shop in Harrisville for several years, and was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Harrisville. She moved to Belpre in 2007.
Surviving Gladys are her daughter, Susan Nelson and husband, Lynn, of Belpre; and three grandchildren, Richard Nelson, Amy Neal and Rachel Cox.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Rexroad; second husband, Marvin Cox; daughter, Virginia Siers; and son, Bobby Cox.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, is assisting the family with private cremation services.
