Helen June Griffith, 75, of Parkersburg, passed away on April 14, 2013, at the residence of her sister, Phyllis Ann Rymer, surrounded by her family and friends, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Spencer, W.Va., the daughter of the late Manford and Roseanna Hickman Mace. Helen graduated from Spencer High School and was a member of the Rainbow of Girls. Following graduation, she was employed by C & P Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, she married Monzel Hugh Griffith on Feb. 28, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2007. After the birth of their son, she became a homemaker, enjoyed cross-stitch, bowling and traveling.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lesa Griffith; two grandsons, Jarrod and Jeramy; two sisters, Norma Tracey and Larry, and Phyllis Ann Rymer; brother, Jeffrey S. Mace and Robin; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held with interment at Sunset Memory Gardens.
