Patricia Ann Joy, 65, of Cairo, went to be with the Lord, April 14, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
She was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Acel and Estella Pauline Haynes McDonald Sr. Patty was co-owner with her husband of Joy's Disposal, doing all of the clerical work. She would help anyone with whatever she could and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Joy; daughters, Teressa R. Sinnett (Shawn) of Ellenboro, Donna J. Sinnett Arnett (Ronald) of Glendale, and Sherri Lea Joy Nichols (John) of St. Marys; brothers, Billy Joe McDonald (Ona) of Harrisville, Steven McDonald (Margie), and Terry McDonald (Cindy), all of Ellenboro; sisters, Sheila Jones of Ellenboro, Debbie Dupree (Harvey) of Cedar Bluff, Ala., and Mary Underwood (Wayne) of Ellenboro; sister-in-law, Linda McDonald of Harrisville; three half siblings, Joseph, Christina and Andy; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Acel McDonald Jr.; and brother-in-law, Jack Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Rev. John Frum officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Twin Oaks. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
