Parkersburg News and Sentinel

Charles F. 'Chuck' Miller, 61, of St. Marys, W.Va., passed away April 8, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Newport, Ohio, the son of the late James Franklin Miller and Clara Pugh Miller of Marietta. He graduated from Marietta High School and had retired from Eramet after 32 years of service, where he worked as a Crane Operator. He had served in the Army reserves for 9 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and working around his home. He was everyone's 'best friend' who worked selflessly to do for others, and after his retirement worked at his own pace.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vickie Lynn Skarry Tanner-Miller of St. Marys; his children, Jenny Miller of Newport, Ohio, Timothy Miller of Marietta, Ohio, and their mother, Kathy Murphy; his step-son, Todd David Tanner; granddog, 'Doc'; his sisters, Donna Miller Meyers of Kailua, Hawaii, and Sharon Miller Stoddard of St. Lucie, Fla; his mother-in-law, Jeanne McLain of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered daily by his family, friends, co-workers, and special neighbors, Chuck and Jane Hunt.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Pastor Steve Reed officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and 1 p.m. Friday until service time.
