Norma Rae Layfield, 74, of Vienna, passed away on April 6, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born in Grantsville, W.Va., on Oct. 16, 1939, a daughter of the late Hall V. and Tressa Wright Francis.
Norma enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with her late husband, Isaac Layfield, and was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church.
Surviving Norma are her daughters, Mary Layfield, Carol Ann Foster and Allen Chester and Chrisandera Lee Bunnells; five grandchildren, Noema Ann Bustos, Natalie Gene Pepper, Chad Allen Foster, Ashley Dawn Blosser and Rendell and Kayla Lee Bunnells; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Corbin and David and Linda Smith and Jerry; three brothers, Brad Francis and Sandy, the Rev. Harold Francis and Ann and Larry Francis; and 10 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Isaac Layfield, in 1995.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Methodist Church, Gihon Road, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Jeff Williamson and the Rev. Harold Francis officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
