Virginia Marie ‘Ginny’ Ritchie

Virginia Marie "Ginny" Ritchie, 92, formerly of Belpre, died April 5, 2013, at Highland Oaks Nursing Facility in McConnelsville.

Born Aug. 15, 1920, in Braddock, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Herman and Sadie Stahl Kelch.

A graduate of Racine High School, Ginny had been a bookkeeper at Parkersburg National Bank. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed attending church. She was a member of the auxiliaries of VFW Post 5108 and American Legion Post 64. Ginny had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and had enjoyed time spent knitting and crocheting.

She was married Jan. 24, 1970, to Fred W. Ritchie, who survives, along with seven stepchildren, Ronnie Ritchie of Ft. Myers, Fla., Gerald Ritchie of Elizabeth, W.Va., Roger Ritchie (Jane) of Marietta, Douglas Ritchie (Yvonne) of Williamstown, Jody Anderson of Richmond, Va., Dane Ritchie (Anita) of Belpre and Jan E. Miller of Marietta. Also surviving are 16 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, Duane Ritchie.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Ritchie officiating. Burial will be at Gravel Bank Cemetery. The family will greet friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
