H. Jean Reed Crooks, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away on March 30, 2013, at Parkersburg Care and Rehab, after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 6, 1943, in Harrisville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harold and Nellie Snodgrass Goff. She was a unit secretary at St. Joseph's Hospital for several years. She loved bowling, playing games and traveling.
She is survived by two sons, Bryan D. Reed (Lisa) and L. Duane Reed (Vanessa), all of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Jason Reed, Andrew Reed, Kyle Reed and Courtney McDonough; two step-grandchildren, Victor Rollins and Tyler Rollins; one step-great-grandchild, Kiley Rollins; four sisters, Linda Mashburn (John) of Austin, Texas, Eva Johnson (Rick) of Falls Church, Va., Helen Lambert (Jim) of Belpre, Ohio, and Betty Tanner (Joe) of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Forrest 'Bud' Goff of North Carolina, and Nelson Goff (Edith) of Ritchie County, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Stephanie Epling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas E. Reed; two brothers, Hayward and Wendell Goff; and a great-grandson, Jayden.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
