Paul D. Wright, 93, of Parkersburg, passed away March 29, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Roane County, W.Va., the son of the late Will and Freda Burdette Wright.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and had worked for the Mountain State Steel Foundry for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband, father and neighbor.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Phillips of Parkersburg; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Susan, Lisa and Shelly; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cliff Wright of Belpre, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Garnet Trippett Wright; and his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with full military graveside rites by Parkersburg American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Immediately following the graveside service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Tuesday, there will be a Celebration of Eternal Life at Leavitt Family Center, and any expression of condolence with food may be brought to the center on Tuesday.
