Mary Thorn Anderson, 89, of Vienna, passed away March 28, 2013, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, W.Va.
She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Lawrence T. Thorn and Aubra Amos Thorn Jeffrey.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. She was a member of The Parkersburg Junior League, the Vienna Chapter 151 Order Of Eastern Star, and served as a volunteer and board member of the Parkersburg Day Nursery.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carl Wallace Anderson; a daughter and son-in-law, Aubra Kay Connour and husband, Charles, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and a son, Robert of the home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Thorn.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, with the Rev. Brent Strum officiating. Internment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
