Dolly L. Smith, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away March 26, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Everett and Mary Yeater.
She had worked at one time with her husband at Smith Upholstery and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Shrine Eastern Star, was a philanthropist, bowler, golfer, skilled crafter and seamstress and was also involved in numerous volunteer activities and organizations. The family has said "Our Mom was one of life's best gifts.....truly unforgettable, someone that was treasured by all throughtout her life. She was caring, loving, thoughtful and true. She was a loving Mother and friend...who loved us all."
She is survived by her children, Norman Smith of Vienna, Russ Smith and wife Debra of Rougemont, N.C., and Mindy Smith of Parkersburg; one stepson, Richard Smith; her grandchildren, Mike Riggs, Stephanie Anthony, Bree Gustke, Alex Gustke, Tad Smith, Mika Peeple, Robbie Smith and Trisha Houfek; many great grandchildren and one brother, Frank Yeater of Parkersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Yeater; one daughter, Julie Riggs; one sister, Mary Louise Barrett and one brother, Jack Yeater.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m.
