Ray (Razor) Tanner, 76, of Walker, W.Va., passed away at his home on March 25, 2013.
He was born in Milo, W.Va., on Sept. 20, 1936, a son of the late Samual Tanner and Edna Stephens Tanner. He worked for a short time as a timber cutter and building houses. He retired from Carpenters Local 899 after 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Farnsworth Tanner; five children, Betty (Jim) Thomas of Newark, W.Va., Ray (Nancy) Tanner II of Parkersburg, W.Va., Charles (Beckie) Tanner of Walker, W.Va., Billy Joe (Brenda) Tanner of Walker, W.Va., and Keith (Brandi) Tanner of Newark, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and eight step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; and two infant daughters, Beverly Tanner and Kimberly Tanner.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will be handled by Matheny Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth, W.Va.
