Gary Wayne Winans, 64, of Washington, W.Va., passed away March 21, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Dale H. and Maggie Irene Lemon Winans. He was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He was a self-employed over the road truck driver, had an excavating service, and in the past farmed and raised cattle. Gary was a member of the FFA Alumni and the Ford & Mustang Club of Parkersburg. He was a member of the Lubeck Church of Christ for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Sharon Jones Winans; three sons, Derran Winans (Janet) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Greg Winans of Washington, W.Va., and Steve Winans of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister, Linda Deem (Roger) of Texas; a brother, Dale Winans (Shirley) of Illinois; and a granddaughter, Amanda Winans of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shelia Connor.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, with Evangelist Steve Fuchs officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
