Norman Guy Anderson, 79, of Harrisville, W.Va., died March 17, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 15, 1934, in the Grass Lick Community, Jackson County, W.Va., a son of the late Otmer Camden and Polly M. Chancey Anderson. Norm was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Armstrong Telephone in Harrisville. He was a member of Harrison Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid coon and rabbit hunter, and loved to watch his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Koontz Anderson; daughters, Sonya Jean Spencer (Tim) of Smithville, and Tracie Dawn McDonald (Joe) of Burnt House; sisters, Josephine Rhodes of Ripley, Naomi Williams of Fairplain and Mary Lou Rinehart of Doylestown, Ohio; granddaughters, Brittnay Spencer and Erica Morton. He was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Jean Harris.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrison Street United Methodist Church, Harrisville, with Rev. Carl DeVaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Koontz Cemetery, Goldtown, W.Va. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
