Stanley L. Swingle, 79, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born June 28, 1933, in LeRoy, Pa., a son to the late Leslie and Myrtle Swingle.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict, and was an owner/operator in the trucking industry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Swingle; two infant brothers; and a granddaughter, Krissy Bailey.
He is survived by his daughters, Diania Cramlet of Parkersburg, Janice Bailey (David) of Parkersburg and Carla Swingle (Lloyd Thompson) of Wichita, Kan.; brothers, Gary Swingle of Charleston, W.Va., and Frank Swingle of Athens, Pa.; grandchildren, Kim Merritt, Cindy Cramlet, Michelle Johnston, Sammie Gaul and Amanda Merkle; along with seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Robert Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, with Veteran's Rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
