NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Both athletes representing Marietta College at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships ran well in their heats on Friday to advance to today's finals.
Freshman Alex Allen broke her own school record in the women's 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 7.71 seconds to place third in Friday's heat. Her time was the fifth best in the preliminary round. Allen's previous record was 7.81 seconds.
Junior Ryan Lopez-Jordan finished fourth in his 60-meter hurdle heat with a time of 8.21 seconds. Lopez-Jordan was the eighth, and final, qualifier for Saturday's finals.
Lopez-Jordan will run in the finals of the 60m hurdles at 2:55 p.m. today, while Allen is set for the 3:50 p.m. final in the women's 60m dash.
